Influence scenic reading on preschool children

The theme of the thesis is the influence of stage reading on preschool children. The theoretical part presents the project "Listování", the beginning and the activities of the project, and its importance for pre-reading and reading. Qualitative research methods are used in the practical part. The author of the thesis conducts interviews with children in preschools. The aim of the thesis is to find out what effect does "Listování" have on young children and how it influences their relationship to books and reading.

The Communicative Approach to Second Language Teaching in Current Textbooks of Czech for Foreigners Jarmila Valková Abstract The general part of the thesis reviews the background, current understanding and key principles of the Communicative Approach to second language teaching with regard to their foundation in the Direct Oral Method. The objective, usual teaching techniques and textbook components of Communicative Language Teaching are compared to the ones used in the Grammar-Translation Method to show the essential difference between the direct and indirect language approaches to language acquisition and their implications for the character of textbook components. The research part of the thesis examines selected textbooks of Czech as a second language which are supposed to epitomise the following tendencies in the area of contemporary writing of textbooks of Czech for foreigners: a) consistent use of the strategies and textbook components based on the Grammar- Translation Method, b) eclectic application of Grammar-Translation strategies and components together with certain features of the Communicative Approach, c) coherent implementation of the Communicative Approach with related techniques and textbook components. Mass media and the development of pre-reading of preschool children

This thesis maps mass media, especially television broadcasting and electronic devices with connection to the Internet, in the lives of pre-school children, and investigates the relationship between mass media and development of initial reading skills. The theoretical part analyses existing literature relevant to pre-school child development elementary reading and mass media, while the empirical research makes an independent investigation into this phenomenon in society using questionnaires for pre-school children's parents, structured interviews with selected children, and structured interviews with open-ended questions with selected pre-school teachers. The aim of this work is to determine today's pre-school children's interests in books compared with television and electronic devices with connection to the Internet, to look at how parents strengthen their children's relationships with books, and to identify methods for controlling the programmes that children watch.
